About Me
Hi my name is Cain Burns and I live in North Shields with my dad Chris and mam Sarah. I was born 10 weeks early but I had problems with my breathing so I was taken into special care which I had to spend 7 days there. After 2 months in hospital i was able to go home. At 12 months my dad and mam had noticed that i wasnt able to sit up properly on my own and I hadnt started to crawl that’s when my dad and mam started to think something was wrong. At 18 months I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, which means my legs are stiff and painful and I can’t walk on my own. Now I am 6 years old and I really struggle with everyday things and I can’t do all the things I would like to. I really would like your help to get my legs fixed.
We have found out about an operation that is performed in St Louis in the United States of America. It is called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy and the operation stops the wrong signals being sent to my legs so they are no longer stiff and painful. This will help me to become an independent child like all my friends.
To get my operation we need to raise £55,000 to cover the operation and the aftercare. I will have to work very hard on my physio and exercises after my operation with private physiotherapy every day to make my dream come true.
Please help me to reach my goal.
